Navi Mumbai: 23-year-old man gets life term in Pocso case

NAVI MUMBAI: The Panvel sessions court for Pocso cases on Monday convicted and sentenced a 23-year-old youth to life term imprisonment with Rs 22,000 penalty for the sexual assault and attempt to murder of an 8-year-old girl residing in his locality.
The incident had taken place on August 31, 2017, when the accused, a daily wage worker identified as Jaan Anwar Aalam forcibly entered the house of the girl after finding her alone at home. The accused was booked under section 376 for sexual assault and section 307 of the IPC for attempt to murder.
