Truck crushes five morning walkers to death in Assam

GUWAHATI: A truck mowed down at least five joggers and morning walkers, which includes two women, on NH 15 on Tuesday at Sipajhar in Assam's Darrang district.
At least seven persons have been injured and are being treated at various hospitals. Those in serious condition have been shifted to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital.
Sipajhar BJP legislatior Paramananda Rajbongshi who visited GMCH said the number of injured could be more.
Police said the driver must have lost control of the truck and ran over the people before hitting a tree. The driver is absconding.
