Omprakash Purohit, due to injuries he sustained in a road accident has landed 17-year-old son of a senior civic official in a spot of bother.
On May 18, the teenager had allegedly hit Purohit with his two-wheeler near
Trimurti Nagar Square. Both the teenager and Purohit sustained injuries in the incident. Omprakash was admitted to a private hospital. Only son of his parents, Omprakash’s marriage was scheduled in July this year.
Omprakash, who worked with a pharmaceutical company, had stopped at a traffic signal on his scooter when the teenager, riding a two-wheeler, dashed him in full speed. The teenager was wearing a helmet, said sources.
Senior inspector Vidya Jadhav of Rana Pratap Nagar police station said the case has been registered as accidental death. “We have come to know that the surviving scooterist is a minor. The cops would ascertain in whose name the vehicle is registered and take further action accordingly,” said Jadhav.
