Three people accused of kidnapping and killing Bontle Mashiyane have abandoned their bail applications.

The men appeared in the KaBokweni Magistrate's Court on Monday.

Ex-convict Collen Hlongwane, 36, Ntombikayise Ngwenya, 40, and Thapelo Ngomane, 25, face charges of rape, murder, kidnapping, and dealing in human parts.

"During the trio's appearance in court, they applied for legal aid representatives, and all abandoned their bail applications. All suspects are in custody. The matter was postponed to 24 June at Masoyi Periodical Court. Investigations are continuing," NPA regional spokesperson Monica Nyuswa said.

Six-year-old Bontle was reported missing on 30 April.

She was last seen walking with Hlongwane in Mganduzweni, near White River.

On Saturday, her body was found in the bushes, a few metres away from her home with some body parts missing.
