CHANDIGARH: Telangana chief minister
K Chandrashekar Rao on Sunday said
farmers can change governments if they want and they should keep fighting until they are promised constitutional guarantee for remunerative prices of crops.
KCR was speaking at an event here attended by his Delhi and
Punjab counterparts —
Arvind Kejriwal and
Bhagwant Mann, respectively — to give financial aid of Rs 10 lakh each to family members of Galwan martyrs and Rs 3 lakh each to kin of farmers who died during the stir against the Centre’s three farm laws, on behalf of Telangana.
Reaching out to farmers, KCR said: “Farmers from across states should come together to fight for justice as they feed the nation. There is only one way. If farmers want, they can change the government (satta-palat). It’s not a big deal. They should support the party that promises constitutional guarantee for remunerative prices in the next elections. From where the power comes, it comes from us. It is possible if farmers’ leaders can bring about such a united voice in the entire country. ”
Exhorting the farmers to resume their agitation for all the demands, including
MSP on all crops, KCR said now this struggle should not be only restricted to states of Punjab, Haryana and western
Uttar Pradesh, rather all the farmers from other states should proactively come forward for getting their genuine demands accepted by the Centre.
