Thiruvananthapuram: A 51-year-old man was arrested by the city police for cheating people promising lakhs of rupees as loan, informed G Sparjan Kumar, City Police Commissioner. The accused has been identified as Sunil Kumar, son of Natarajan, of Kottaramvila house near Kusavoor in Chithara. The police arrested him from a secret hideout in Tamil Nadu. He was arrested on a complaint filed by Ulloor resident Sivakumar. The accused made Sivakumar believe that he was the managing director of Blue Star Finance and Micro Finance and offered a loan of Rs 35 lakhs. Later he went absconding with the money given by the complainant as processing fees. Sunil Kumar is an accused in a similar case in Chithara and a counterfeit currency case in Attingal. TNN
