Mangaluru: Unidentified miscreants gained entry into a house and decamped with gold ornaments and cash, at Kolnadu in Bantwal taluk. The complainant K M Mohammed, along with his family members, had been to their relative’s house at Sajipanadu on Thursday. When they returned home on Friday, they noticed clothes scattered inside the house, and the cupboard was open. The thieves probably gained entry by removing the roof tiles, and had decamped with gold ornaments worth Rs 1.4 lakh and Rs 5,000. A case has been registered at the Vittal police station. Arecanuts stolen Thieves decamped with arecanuts worth Rs 1 lakh, that were stored in eight gunny sacks in the car park of a house at Sangabettu in Bantwal taluk. In a complaint, Mohammed Tausif said that the theft must have occurred on the intervening night of May 13 and 14, and came to light when Tausif returned home from Madikeri on Friday. A case has been registered at the Bantwal Rural police station.
