NEW DELHI: With 2,226 new coronavirus infections being reported in a day, India's total tally of Covid-19 cases rose to 4,31,36,371 while the active cases decreased to 14,955, according to the Union
health ministry data updated on Sunday.
According to the Union health ministry data updated at 9 am, the death toll rose to 5,24,413 with 65 more fatalities.
The active cases constituted 0.03 per cent of the total infections, while the national recovery rate was recorded at 98.75 per cent, the health ministry said.
A decrease of 97 cases has been recorded in the active Covid-19 caseload in a span of last 24 hours.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.50 per cent and weekly positivity rate at 0.50 per cent, the data said.
Meanwhile more than 193.53 crore (1,93,53,58,865) vaccine doses have been provided to
states/UTs so far through government of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category, and more than 16.53 crore (16,53,73,860) balance and unutilized
covid vaccine doses are still available with the states/UTs to be administered.
Vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 3.24 crore (3,24,75,018) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of the vaccine. Similarly, the Covid-19 precaution dose administration for age group 18-59 years also started from 10th April, 2022 onwards.
