CHANDIGARH/SHIMLA: Haryana alone reported 235 or almost 94% of the region's 251 new cases of Covid-19 on Saturday, while
Punjab added 13 patients and Himachal Pradesh 3. None of the three states recorded any death.
Punjab’s overall
Covid tally of 7,60,180 includes 7,42,303 recoveries, 17,751 deaths, and 126 active cases, while the positivity rate is 0.12%. The day’s 45,334 vaccinations included 7,143 first doses, 38,191 second shots, and 4,296 precautionary doses. The state health department conducted another 11,300 tests.
Haryana reported 201 recoveries, while Mahendergarh is now the only Covid-free district. The state's overall Covid tally of 10,00,711 includes 9,88,843 recoveries, 1,0621 deaths, and 1,224 active cases, of which 18 are in hospital.
Gurgaon had the highest new cases at 172, followed by Faridabad (36), Panchkula (9), Jhajjar (4),
Rohtak (3), Panipat, Jind, and Palwal (2 each), and Charkhi Dadri, Kaithal, Bhiwani, Karnal, and Hisar (1 each).
The day's 29,678 vaccinations included 6,090 first doses, 11,782 second shots, and 11,806 booster. The overall vaccination figure reached 4,32,61,041.
Himachal Pradesh reported 11 recoveries. The state's overall Covid tally of 2,85,003 includes 2,80,796 recoveries, 4,117 deaths, and 71 active cases. Of the state's 46,33,121 tests, so far, 43,48,117 were negative. Since 7pm on Friday, the state testeed another 1,298 samples and it awaits one of the results.
Hamirpur district reported two new cases, while Solan reported one. Kangra district reported 4 recoveries, followed by Chamba (3), Shimla (2), and
Una and Lahaul-Spiti (1 each).
Kangra district has reported 19 active cases, followed by Solan (15), Hamirpur and Shimla (10 each), Mandi (6), Chamba and Sirmaur (3), Bilaspur and Kullu (2 each), and Una (1).
