Uttar Pradesh STF arrests 2 for petrol, diesel theft

LUCKNOW: UP STF busted a gang stealing diesel and petrol from tankers going to depots besides denatured spirit in Mohanlalganj on Saturday and arrested two miscreants in this connection.
The team recovered 35,000 barrels of denatured spirit worth Rs 35 lakh, a tanker, 25 drums full of petrol, 3 drums of diesel, 41 empty drums, a suction machine, packing machine, Rs 8,100 in cash and other items.
The arrested were identified as Mohammed Mohsin of Moradabad and Nirmal Yadav aka Saurabh of Mohanlalganj. Both had expertise in stealing fuel from tankers without opening the digital lock. They were arrested near Kankaha railway station in Mohanlalganj.
STF sleuths, however, said that the mastermind Arun Yadav, who is zila panchayat member from Samajwadi Party, and six others are on the run.
