NASHIK: The
Sinnar police have arrested a 38-year-old woman on the charge of killing her husband by strangling him.
The woman had murdered her 42-year-old husband on Thursday night and later called up the police to inform that her husband had committed suicide by hanging at their residential facility in a school in
Musalgaon, where her husband worked as a watchman.
However, when the police reached the spot and they found that the height of the ceiling of the room and the rope used for the alleged hanging did not match, they suspected the woman’s role in her husband’s death.
The police said the woman was unable to give satisfactory answers to their questions and allegedly confessed to have killed her husband by strangling him. Her husband had been demanding Rs 6,000 from her for some work and she allegedly got infuriated with the same and committed the crime on Thursday when her husband was drunk.
PSI Raosaheb Tribhuvan of the MIDC Sinnar police station said, “We suspect that there could be more people involved in the murder. We feel the woman alone could not have strangled her husband to death. Things will become clear during the course of investigation.” The couple has two sons and on the same day, they had gone to their relative’s residence in a nearby village, said the police.
They originally hail from
Igatpuri but had come to Sinnar to earn a living.
