An 11-year-old boy who was hit by a speeding bike in Bihar’s Supaul district was taken away by the bike-borne man, ostensibly for treatment. However, the child’s body was later found in a sack on the banks of a river nearby.
The deceased boy’s father Dhanikalal, a resident of Panchgachia village in Marauna block, said his son had left for school early on Saturday morning. While walking down the main road, a speeding bike collided with him. The biker picked up the injured boy and fled the scene.
A search was launched and the boy’s body was found later that afternoon, stowed inside a gunny sack dumped on the banks of the river in Thariya village. After being apprised of the crime, a police team reached the scene and sent the minor’s body for post mortem.
The biker has been identified as Dhruv Kumar, also a resident of Panchgachia village. An FIR has been filed and police assured that the accused will be brought to justice.
Nadi SHO Ramanuj Singh said the victim’s family has lodged a complaint alleging murder. One accused has been arrested in the case and further investigation in underway, he added.
