JAIPUR: Lashing out at the
Congress government in the state, the
BJP on Friday claimed that
Rajasthan has been left behind in terms of development in the three-and-a-half years of Congress rule.
“BJP is not concerned about the infighting within the Congress. CM
Ashok Gehlot has failed to use even an iota of his experience for the state during his present term. He used his entire strength to save his seat. We hear from people that Rajasthan has as many CMs as Cong MLAs. The police and administration have been directed to do as the Congress MLAs say. As a result, the law and order and the administration is now corrupt,’’ said BJP MP and party's national spokesperson
Rajyavardhan Rathore.
“The people in the state had placed their trust in a party and given it the responsibility to form the government here, for implementation of projects, to ensure people’s security and to work with the central government. However, the Congress government has failed it all these aspects,’’ he said.
Rathore was addressing the media on the discussions held over Rajasthan during the national office-bearers meeting on Friday. “Everybody knows this because of the figures. The government has worked against farmers, women and youth. For decades Rajasthan was known as a peace-loving state, now it tops the list in terms of atrocities against women. It stands last in implementation of policies, particularly in supplying drinking water. This shows the efficiency of the state government,’’said Rathore.
The lakhs of candidates appearing for the recruitments exams in the state have been cheated. “One after the other, recruitment exams were held, papers got leaked and one after the other, exams were cancelled. That apart, the state government has engaged in politics of appeasement. I believe that is out of panic as BJP is in power in 18 states while Congress is being swiped out of the few where it is in power,’’ he added.
Rathore said that after the Congress party’s “Chinta (worry) shivir,’ two state presidents have joined BJP. “Congress keeps focusing on image makeover but politics does not work that way. What works is serving people,’’ he added.
