Mysuru: Union minister of state for agriculture and farmers’ welfare Shobha
Karandlaje’s efforts to get former
MLC G
Madhusudhana for the
BJP candidate’s campaigning has borne fruits.
The former legislator, who was aspiring to contest the polls, had stayed away from the party campaigning though senior leaders had started canvassing for M V
Ravishankar in the polls to the legislative council from the South Graduates’ segment.
Shobha, who had served as the Mysuru district minister for 18 months during Yediyurappa’s tenure, reached out to Madhusudhana. The senior BJP leader, who attended her press conference, said he is working for the party candidate.
Madhusudhana had represented the segment twice before the party opted for Ravishankar during 2016 polls. Though he was aspiring to contest again, the party has fielded Ravishankar.
The former MLC said the party will win the segment with highest first-preference votes.
