Mangaluru/Udupi: After a respite on Friday morning, there was sudden heavy rain in the city and the
Dakshina Kannada (DK) district, whereas incessant rain lashed Udupi district since morning, but by evening, the rain had stopped, and there was sunshine for a brief time.
DK received 39.4mm of rain, and Udupi district received 83.9mm of rain in the last 24 hours, ending 8.30am on Friday.
Shirur in Kundapur taluk of Udupi district received 211 mm of rain, one of the highest in the state.
In Udupi, rain partially damaged four houses, and the damage was estimated at Rs 85,000.

India Meteorological Department issued a rainfall warning, stating that heavy to very heavy rain was likely to occur at isolated places over all the districts of coastal
Karnataka, where rainfall shall exceed 115 mm on Saturday.
