The Premier Soccer League (PSL) have confirmed the decision to abandoned the DStv Premiership fixture between Royal AM and Mamelodi Sundowns at Chatsworth Stadium, KwaZulu-Natal.

The match kick started at the 15:00 but 24 minutes into the fixture, it was brought to a stop and relevant parties was consulted before a decision was reached.

The league confirmed the postponement of the fixture on Twitter: "The #DStvPrem Fixture between Royal AM and Mamelodi Sundowns has been abandoned due to inclement weather. The new date and Kick-off time will be announced in due course."

It was the final league match for champions-in-waiting Sundowns - and they would have celebrated under a rain of confetti with the Premiership trophy.

But celebrations have also been placed on ice.

The PSL also confirmed the postponement of the KwaZulu-Natal derby between AmaZulu and Golden Arrows.

A new date and time will be confirmed in due course for both fixtures.
