NASHIK: A string of
murders took place in
Nashik city over Wednesday and Friday but the
police have detected all the cases.
Commissioner of police Jayant
Naiknavare said, “All murders were isolated cases and there are no gangs involved in the cases. All the cases have been detected.”
A 49-year-old man, originally from Nashik and currently residing in Pune, was stabbed to death after a fight on the road. The Bhadrakali police have arrested four persons, said CP Naiknavare.
The victim, Harish Patil, had come to Nashik as he had got an order of installing air-conditioners. At around 5.30 am on Friday, when he alighted from a bus near Dwarka and was walking towards his parent’s home, he got hit by a bike. This led to an argument between the bike riders and him. One of them alighted from the bike and stabbed him to death.
In another incident, the body of a 23-year-old second year pharmacy student
Prathamesh Khaire was found along the river banks in the Gangapur Road area on Thursday evening. Postmortem reports revealed that the boy had suffered internal injuries in the head.
Police investigation revealed that Prathamesh was allegedly killed by three of his acquaintances. Naiknavare said that Prathamesh was allegedly killed as one of his friends was angry with him for informing the friend’s behaviour to the latter’s father. Naiknavare said that they have detained one person and are looking for two others involved in the murder.
In the case of the death of the father and son in Panchavati, postmortem reports revealed that the son died from suffocation and the father had hanged himself. PI Seetaram Kolhe said, “Investigations revealed that the father, Jagdish Jadhav, was frustrated with the behaviour of his son, Pranav, a Std XII student as he was disobedient and used to hurl abuses on his parents. On Wednesday night, when Pranav was asleep, Jagdish choked him to death and then hung himself from the ceiling fan.”
CP
Jayant Naiknavare said that three people were also arrested in connection with the murder of 22-year-old
Yash Gangurde, who was allegedly stabbed to death over some petty altercation on Wednesday in the Mhasrool area.
