Woman electrocuted in TN horticulture dept’s farm near Coimbatore

COIMBATORE: A 33-year-old woman was electrocuted on the Tamil Nadu horticulture department’s farm premises at Kannampalayam in Coimbatore district on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Velumani, wife of Manikandan of Panchayat Office Street at Pallapalayam near Sulur.
Around 11.45am on Friday, while she was working, Velumani came in contact with a livewire and was electrocuted. Other workers disconnected the power supply and rushed her to Sulur Government Hospital where doctors declared her dead.
The Sulur police registered a case.
