Palghar: Edible oil tanker overturns on highway in Dahanu, locals rush to collect spilling oil

MUMBAI: A tanker carrying over 12,000 litres edible oil overturned on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad national highway at Dahanu in Palghar district on Saturday.

The tanker driver is believed to have lost control of the vehicle near Tawa village in Dahanu taluka. The tanker was on the Mumbai Road.
The oil spilling on the road leading to traffic snarls. As the police was busy warning motorists of the danger of the oil spill, villagers rushed to the spot to collect whatever oil they could lay their hands on.
This is the second instance of a tanker overturning on the highway in three days.
On Thursday, a tanker carrying gas overturned on the highway at Medhwan in Palghar. Vehicular traffic was hit till late evening.
