City Std XI admission registration starts on May 30

Nagpur: Registration for online admissions to junior colleges (Std XI) within Nagpur city limits will begin from May 30. The education department has declared the schedule which will also be applicable to a few more urban areas in Maharashtra.
The demo link for registration will open from May 23, so that students can practice the process of filling details and submitting it. On May 28, all data submitted by the students during this mock registration process will be deleted from servers.
As per rules, admission to all state board affiliated junior colleges in the city can be done only through the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) that is operated directly by the education department. The entire process is online and colleges in city are barred from taking offline admissions.
Under the CAP, the admission process takes place in two phases that are officially called Part-1 and Part-2.
In Part-1, the registration and admission form is filled online by the students. Since results have not been announced yet, Part-1 form seeks only details like student’s name, date of birth, address, school name etc. Once the details are filled, students have to pay the processing fee online itself and that is considered as ‘locking the form’.
After the submission starts verification process. This is done to check authenticity of information submitted in the online form. Here state board students (open category) have a slight advantage as their forms are auto-verified as the state board already has their data on servers.
For others including CBSE and ICSE board students, the verification process has to be completed at a guidance centre. List of the centres is available in public domain.
Part-2 form has to be filled after SSC results are declared. Here students have to enter their marks and opt for stream and college preference. Admissions are done on merit basis
