Nadda discusses poll-bound states, office-bearers' roles at Jaipur conclave

Even before the dust settles on the Congress Chintan Shivir that concluded in Udaipur two days ago, BJP began a three-day office-bearers' meeting here to discuss the various challenges ahead for the party, especially in states going to polls in the coming year. Though a much-weakened force, Congress will be the main adversary in some of these states.

The conclave is not high-profile as it is confined to BJP office-bearers and will not see the participation of important union ministers. However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's virtual address slated for Friday morning is likely to give it direction and focus. BJP chief JP Nadda will also deliver his keynote address at the conclave.

BJP sources said office bearers' meeting is primarily focused on the election-bound Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh this year and Tripura, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. It will also discuss the strategy and ways of reaching out to the people on the various welfare schemes, rubbishing the charges and attacks of BJP's opponents and propagating the party's and Modi government's stand on various sensitive issues.

While functioning of the organization and stock-taking of the efforts being made by office-bearers to carry out responsibilities assigned to them forms part of this conclave, it will also deal with the road ahead in achieving the goals set by the party. The BJP office-bearers will present reports of areas/responsibilities under their charge on Friday.
