Rain in Kolhapur, Sangli, yellow alert continues

Waterlogging and power cuts were reported in most parts of Kolhapur on Thursday
Kolhapur: Kolhapur and Sangli districts on Thursday received heavy pre-monsoon showers along with lightning and gusty winds for around one hour.
The rainfall also led to power cuts and waterlogging in most parts of Kolhapur city. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert till Friday.
Due to the change in weather conditions the south Maharashtra districts — Kolhapur, Satara, Sangli and Solapur — continue to witness a drop in maximum temperature due to the cloud cover throughout the day.
As per the IMD, Kolhapur registered a maximum temperature of 29.3 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was recorded at 24.7 degrees Celsius. In Sangli, the maximum temperature was recorded at 31.2 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 24.8 degrees Celsius.
The maximum and minimum temperatures in Satara was recorded at 35.5 degrees and 254. degrees Celsius, respectively. Meanwhile, due to cloudy weather Solapur witnessed a drop of five units in the maximum temperature from 40 to 35 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature was recorded at 27.1 degrees Celsius.
