40 pvt school heads meet to discuss post Covid-19 challenges

Ludhiana: An organisation of school principals, Ludhiana Sahodaya School Complex (LSSC), held a meeting of principals from 40 private schools of the city at a hotel in Bai Bala Chowk. It was a part of LSSC annual meeting, chaired by director D P Guleria, principal of BCM School.
The discussion on post Covid adaptations in schools was moderated by Dr Paramjeet Kaur, advisor of LSSC, CBSE city coordinator, and principal of BCM Arya School in Shastri Nagar. “We have learned and evolved during these two years, else it would have taken decades to bring in blended learning,” she said. But she also said students have now become frustrated and anxiety-prone. “They have lost social skills, teachers need to work on this,” she added.
On the other hand, Kaur pointed out, students have also become independent learners. “Technology has made everything transparent,” she added.
Harmeet Waraich, deputy CBSE city coordinator and principal of Nankana Sahib Public School, said according to the National Education Policy, now local history will be part of school curriculum. “History of the state and district can now be included for strengthening the traditional ethos,” she added.
Vandana Shahi, principal of BCM School in Basant Avenue, said CBSE is creating a portal where schools will be sharing the best teaching practices that can be used as a teaching resource.
