Former Punjab Congress president Navjot S Sidhu, sentenced on Thursday to 1 year jail in a 33-year-old road rage case, will file an application in the Supreme Court to seek time to surrender as his counsel A M Singhvi was unsuccessful in making an urgent mention for relief before CJI N V Ramana. Singhvi said Sidhu will be filing an application in thr court seeking 4-6 weeks time to surrender for serving the one year sentence. Singhvi added that he mentioned only before Justice A M Khanwilkar and not before CJI. He said that an application by Sidhu seeking time for surrendering to serve sentence would be filed soon and thereafter will be mentioned for early listing.
