Vadodara: A woman from Dakor has registered an offence against two policemen alleging sexual harassment while she was on a tour to
Vaishno Devi and other places. She claimed that the accused had troubled her throughout the tour that lasted for about a week.
The offence registered at the Godhra railway police station on Wednesday night claimed that she was a part of a travel group of 40 persons that began the tour on January 1. The woman boarded the train at Godhra on January 1 evening and said that tyhe harassment began soon after.
The two accused –
Vijay Waghela and
Dhimantsinh Waghela – had kept staring at her at the railway station and also passed lewd comments at her, she alleged, adding that the duo kept following her throughout the tour. She raised the issue with the tour operator who apologised to her, she told the police.
However, she stated that she approached the police as the duo did not apologize to her for their behaviour.
After returning home on January 8, the woman mentioned about the incident to her brother. She claims that after making inquiries with the tour operator and finding out the names of the accused, it came to light that they were from the
Sevalia police station.
The offence states that she initially gave an application regarding the incident and had also filed the offence on Wednesday night. However, speaking to the media, the complainant claimed that the police was reluctant to register the offence and had even advised her against it.
