Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Thursday at 10:49AM

Inox Wind Energy(up 3.48%), Energy Development Company(up 2.86%), Adani Power(up 1.59%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(up 1.38%), NLC India(up 0.75%), KEC International(up 0.36%) and Transmission(up 0.29%) were among the top gainers.

Orient Green Power Company(down 3.46%), PTC India(down 3.45%), Tata Power Company(down 3.24%), JSW Energy(down 3.18%), Alstom T&D India(down 3.18%), KPI Green Energy(down 3.07%), Limited(down 2.94%), ADANIGREEN(down 2.89%), Inox wind(down 2.76%) and Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(down 2.74%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 302.1 points down at 15938.2, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 998.52 points at 53210.01 at around 10:49AM.

ITC(up 2.57%) and Eicher Motors(up 0.87%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Tech Mahindra(down 4.39%), Wipro(down 3.93%), Infosys(down 3.86%), HCL Technologies(down 3.62%), IndusInd Bank(down 3.35%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 3.29%), Bajaj Finserv(down 3.23%), Hindalco Industries(down 3.14%), Tata Consultancy(down 3.13%) and JSW Steel(down 3.03%) were trading in the red.
