MANGALURU: Mangaluru MLA and deputy leader of the opposition in Karnataka Legislative Assembly U T Khader on Thursday launched the bus service on Mangaluru – Pajeeru – Panela route by driving the KSRTC vehicle. It was a long pending demand of people from Panela and Pajeeru in Khader’s constituency that a KSRTC bus be introduced from Mangaluru. Accordingly, the MLA had made a request to the KSRTC, but the service was denied due to the bad condition of the road. Following this, the MLA developed the road stretch from Grama Chavadi to Panela spending Rs 1.5 crore from his local area development fund and submitted a request to the KSRTC again. As a result, the KSRTC introduced a bus on Mangaluru – Thokkotu – Deralakatte – Grama Chavadi – Pajeeru – Panela – Padeelu – Boliyaru – Kurnadu – Mitthakodi – Mudipu route from 6.30am. A launching ceremony was held at Panela where Khader inaugurated the service by driving the bus for a while. The video of Khader driving KSRTC bus has gone viral.
