Bokaro: The Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) will convert one of its closed school buildings into a skill development centre. It signed a memorandum of agreement with Dalmia Bharat Foundation on Wednesday. BSL has closed over 30 schools in the past 15 years due to student and manpower shortage. BSL will provide the infrastructure support and Dalmia Bharat will manage the day-to-day activities like faculty and placement. BSL spokesperson said Manikant Dhan said, “BSL and Dalmia share a common vision and value system for bringing about a transformative change in society by leveraging its demographic dividend through empowering the local youths by providing them with training that makes them market ready. The two organisations have signed a MOA to set up a skill development centre at Sector 1 of Bokaro.” The centre will focus on imparting training to youths residing in Bokaro’s peripheral villages. It will train 600 youths annually.
