JAMMU: Jammu Police claimed to have arrested an absconder, who was evading his arrest for the past 17 years from a locality under the jurisdiction of police station Bahu Fort.
As per police spokesperson, a piece of information about the presence of the absconder was received at PP Bathindi following which different police teams of PS Bahu Fort under the supervision of SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas

Mohd Younis Khanday did strenuous efforts and with the help of various inputs finally arrested the absconder namely Bashir Ahmed S/o Ghulam Mustafa R/o Narwal bala Jammu.
The accused was evading his arrest since 2005 i.e 17 years in case FIR No. 231/2002 u/s 307/341/147 RPC 4/25 Arms Act of PS Bahu Fort and was wanted in a case registered under FIR Number 117/2005 u/s 382 and 341 RPC with police station Bahu Fort.
“Further investigation into the case is going on.”
Police said, “Accused shall be produced before the court today for further proceedings.”
