"You would have been very proud, my friend. Nine years today, and I still miss you so much."

This was the tribute Morning Live co-host Leanne Manas made to her former colleague Vuyo Mbuli on the anniversary of his death on Thursday.

She said her long-time former colleague would have been proud of her after she was bestowed the Chevalier de l'Ordre national du Mérite (Knight of the French National Order of Merit) for her contribution to journalism, media, and various important causes.

Mbuli died on 19 May 2013 after he suffered a heart attack.

Over the years, Manas has taken to social media to share how much she misses her former co-host.
