Bad weather at Kozhikode, Riyadh flight lands at MIA

Mangaluru: Bad weather and low visibility at Kozhikode forced a flight to land at the Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) on Wednesday.
The Air India Express flight IX 1322 from Riyadh got diverted to MIA due to bad weather at Calicut International Airport. The flight landed here at 8am and departed after 2pm, with a changed crew. Sources said when the flight landed at MIA, it was almost low on fuel — as it had undertaken multiple attempts to land at the Kozhikode airport.
Sources said that unlike Monday, when three flights landed after a few hours, operations remained normal on Tuesday and Wednesday, with the weather improving.
