Goa: Two held for inter-state fake currency racket in Margao

MARGAO: Two prime accused in the inter-state fake currency racket busted by Karwar police earlier this month were arrested from Margao on Thursday.
Police gave the names of those arrested as Mushtaq Hasan Beg, 43, and Afzal Hasan Beg, 45. Two of their family members, Seema Mushtaq Beg, 40, and Asma Afzal Beg, who were also involved in the racket have been arrested, police sources said.
Fake currency notes of 500 denomination, printers, laptops and other equipment used for printing the counterfeit currency were also seized.
Following a raid at a place in Karwar, the Karwar police had busted the gang by arresting four persons, two of whom were from Margao, and one from Fatorda. The fourth was from Karwar. Police were on the lookout for Mustaq.
