For the first time in five years, a month-long Goa assembly session

The monsoon session will start on July 11 and have 24 working days
PANAJI: The state cabinet on Wednesday decided to summon a month-long monsoon session of the Goa legislative assembly from July 11.
It will be for the first time in the last five years that the state will have a month-long session of the legislative assembly. The monsoon session will have 24 working days.
CM Pramod Sawant said that the session will continue till August 12. During the session, MLAs will discuss on vote of thanks on the governor’s speech, have general discussion on the budget and pass the budget.
The session will see passing of demands of the respective departments, government bills and private member resolutions among others.
In March, after getting elected to office, Sawant had presented the state budget and took a vote on account.
On Wednesday, the state cabinet also approved recruitment to 52 posts in the directorate of skill development and entrepreneurship and 10 posts in government ITIs.
The state cabinet has granted ex-post facto approval for release of balance amount of Rs 1.7 crore to Innovative Medicare Technology Pvt Ltd for supply of remaining 22 ventilators to Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim.
Sawant said that the cabinet has granted ex-post facto administrative approval and expenditure sanction of Rs 1.4 crore for the expenses incurred on providing additional facilities for the five-day national parliament conclave held at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium, Taleigao, in November last year.
The cabinet also approved the proposal for extension of IT support services for R-APDRP Part A system and management and technical services for commercial process for GED by RECPDCL for a period of one year.
