Mahinda makes first appearance in House since resigning as PM

COLOMBO: Sri Lanka’s former strongman Mahinda Rajapaksa on Wednesday made his first appearance in parliament since he was forced to resign as PM and take shelter in a navy camp violent protests against the economic crisis largely blamed on the Rajapaksas.
The former PM along with his family, had fled his official residence — Temple Trees — and has to take shelter at a naval base in Trincomalee.
