Man booked for ‘developing’ illegal colony

Ludhiana: The Sadar police have booked a coloniser on Tuesday for developing an unauthorised colony in Thareeke village. The FIR has been lodged following a three-month long enquiry.
The accused has been identified as Atul Sood. He set up Bhatiyan colony in Thareeke illegally. On the complaint of Pankush Nanda, a junior engineer of Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (Glada), the police filed an FIR against him.
Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Iqbal Singh, investigating officer from Sadar police station, said the junior engineer had lodged a complaint with the police on February 18 against the accused. Following an enquiry, the police have lodged an FIR against the accused coloniser under sections 420 (cheating) of IPC and Punjab Apartment and Property Regulation Act. tnn
