Tirupur: The Mangalam police recovered a body from a gorge near
Kothumuttipalayam here on Tuesday.
A police officer said the hands and legs of the deceased were tied and the body was in a decomposed state.
A few villagers, earlier, noticed the body and informed police. Subsequently, a team of police personnel reached the spot and recovered the body and sent it to the
Tirupur Medical College Hospital for postmortem.
Police suspect that the deceased could be murdered by pushing into the gorge with the hands and legs tied.
District superintendent of police G Shashank Sai inspected the spot and questioned a few people residing in the area. A case has been registered and further investigation is on.
