NOIDA: The additional sessions court in
Gautam Budh Nagar has rejected the bail plea of a man accused in the murder of his 22-year-old wife in January. The accused, a 24-year-old street food vendor, had hired his friend to kill his wife as he allegedly wanted to marry his sister-in-law and had filed a fake complaint in the matter.
According to cops, the woman was found dead at her Sector 94 residence on January 20. The woman had 11 injury marks on her body and postmortem indicated that she was raped. Her husband, who submitted a complaint on charges of murder against an unknown person at Sector 126 police station, had claimed that he was away for work on the day and had found her dead on the floor of their house on return.
Police arrested the woman’s husband and his friend, an autorickshaw driver, on February 8. According to police, the autorickshaw driver was promised Rs 1.5 lakh to kill the woman. The two men were booked under
IPC Sections 302 (murder) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy), while the autorickshaw driver was also charged under IPC Sections 376 (rape).
