Bihar: Cash, valuables worth Rs 5 lakh looted from Rohtas judicial officer's house

SASARAM: Three criminals looted cash, ornaments and valuable items worth around Rs 5 lakh from the official residence of first-class judicial magistrate Ravindra Nath Pandey at Judicial Officers' Colony at Bikramganj in Rohtas district around 10am on Tuesday.
"The criminals also assaulted the wife of Pandey when she tried to resist. They escaped on a motorcycle after committing the crime," Bikramganj DSP Shashi Bhushan said, adding police have begun an inquiry into the incident.
According to police, the criminals barged into the residence of Pandey and sought a glass of water from her. When she told them that Pandey was in the court, they started ransacking the room and looting ornaments at gunpoint. The criminals also snatched earring from Pandey's five-year-old child apart from looting cash and other valuable items.
