Engineer jumps to death from third floor in Ahmedabad

AHMEDABAD: A 53-year-old man, who worked as an engineer with a private firm, allegedly killed himself by jumping from the window of a room on the third floor of a hotel in Chandkheda on Tuesday afternoon.
The police identified him as Notan Phulia, a resident of Setu Scarlets flats in Chandkheda which is merely 2km away from the hotel. He is survived by his wife and 20-year-old son.
Police said, “Phulia had gone to South Africa around 15 days ago. From there, he went to Dubai. He landed in Mumbai on Monday afternoon and returned to Ahmedabad that same night. Instead of going home, he booked a room at the Tunes hotel and stayed there.”
On Tuesday afternoon, a hotel employee spotted his body and called the police.
