Event will be held in memory of Justice Mohan Shantanagoudar

Dharwad: The Advocates’ Association of High Court of Karnataka, Dharwad Bench will organise a programme ‘Celebrating the Life’ in memory of Late Justice Mohan M Shantanagoudar on Saturday (May 21) at 10.30am at Farmers’ Knowledge Centre Auditorium, University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad.
Justice Vineet Saran of Supreme Court of India will be the chief guest.
Supreme Court judges Justices Dinesh Maheshwari, Bhushan Ramakrishna Gavai, Ajjitkuttira Somaiah Bopanna and Ramayyagari Subhash Reddy will be guests of honour.
Chief justice of Karnataka high court Justice Rituraj Awasthi will preside over the event. President of Advocates’ Association Suresh Hudedagaddi said the programme is being organised to mark the first death anniversary of Justice Mohan Shantanagoudar. Born on May 5, 1958, Justice Shantanagoudar passed away on April 24, 2021.
Justice Shantanagoudar studied at Basel Mission Practicing Primary School, RLS High School, Karnatak Science College and University Law College in Dharwad. After practicing for few years in Dharwad, he shifted to Bengaluru to practice in Karnataka high court. He was also the chairman of State Bar Council. He was selected as the judge of Karnataka high court and later appointed as chief justice of Kerala high court. In 2017, he was appointed as the judge of Supreme Court of India.
