Counting of votes for Phase I panchayat polls begins in 21 dists

Ranchi: Counting of votes for the first phase of the three-tier panchayat election in 21 districts of the state, which was conducted through ballot papers, began on Tuesday and continued till late night till the time of filing of this report. The district administrations concerned took up elaborate security arrangements within and around the counting centres to prevent any untoward incidents.
On the results, the state election commission (SEC) secretary, R S Prasad, said, “The results have not come from the districts so far. According to our information, four to six rounds of counting have taken place at most of the centres.”
