Zydus Wellness(down 2.87%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(down 2.63%), Bajaj Consumer(down 1.95%), Emami(down 1.77%), P & G Hygiene(down 1.62%), Dodla Dairy(down 1.46%), Varun Beverages(down 0.60%), Gillette India(down 0.33%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(down 0.25%) and Tasty Bite Eatables(down 0.07%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 19.0 points down at 16240.3, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 109.94 points at 54208.53.
TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 2.73%), Shree Cement(up 2.11%), Hindustan Unilever(up 2.07%), UltraTech Cement(up 2.06%), Cipla(up 2.04%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 2.02%), Hindalco Industries(up 1.8%), Asian Paints(up 1.64%), Divis Laboratories(up 1.47%) and Bajaj Auto(up 1.29%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Power Grid Corporation of India(down 4.5%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 3.08%), Tech Mahindra(down 2.18%), Tata Motors(down 2.12%), Enterprises(down 2.05%), State Bank of India(down 1.99%), Larsen & Toubro(down 1.97%), JSW Steel(down 1.68%), Bajaj Finserv(down 1.62%) and Bharti Airtel(down 1.54%) closed in the red.
