Chennai Corporation office assistant ends life

CHENNAI: A 53-year-old office assistant with the Sholinganallur zone of the Greater Chennai Corporation died by suicide on Wednesday afternoon.
Sathyamoorthy hanged himself on the terrace of the zonal revenue office around 3.30pm, assistant revenue officer Prakash told TOI.
“Only sweepers were there. They found him hanging and informed us. We have filed a complaint with the Semmencherry police,” he said.
Officials were yet to ascertain the reason for the suicide. “We don’t know if it’s due to a personal issue or due to an office-related issue. The police will inquire and find out,” he said.
