Delhi: Conman on strike in jail, demands meeting with wife

NEW DELHI: Jailed conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar has gone on a hunger strike, demanding a meeting with his wife. According to the prison's authority, he didn't eat his food from April 23 to May 2 and then again from May 4 to May 12.
"During this period, he was put on intravenous fluid/glucose in the jail dispensary. Jail punishment has been made against him for this misconduct," said an official.
He demanded to arrange a meeting with his wife, Leena Maria Paul, who is lodged in jail number six at Tihar. "In this connection, he is already being allowed inter-jail mulaqat with his wife twice a month,” the officer said.
