'Jai Bhim': Actor Suriya, movie director T J Gnanavel booked in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: Actor Suriya has once again landed in trouble for his role in 'Jai Bhim'. He and the movie's director TJ Gnanavel have been booked for allegedly portraying a particular community in bad light.
K Santhosh of the Rudra Vanniyar Sena filed a complaint that the movie hurt the sentiments of his community. Since police did not take any action, he moved the district court seeking directions to register a case. Based on the magistrate's order, police have booked both of them under Section 295A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) of IPC.
The movie attracted appreciation from various quarters for representing the hurdles faced by people from scheduled communities within the legal framework.
