Mysuru: Normal life in Mysuru has been disrupted by heavy
rain since late Sunday night. Floodwater flooded many low-lying areas of the city, including Siddarthanagar, Gayatripuram, and Paduvarahalli.
“Our rescue teams are assisting with relief efforts. There have been a few reports of trees being uprooted. All complaints have been attended to,” said Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) commissioner
G Lakshmikantha Reddy.
Rain has damaged many roads in city, causing problems for commuters and drivers. Residents are demanding immediate repairs before these roads cause accidents.
Heavy rain was also reported in the districts of
Mandya and
Chamarajanagar. Farmers are expected to be able to begin monsoon farming without fear of a water shortage, thanks to the abundant rainfall.
