Two railway staff injured after falling on track; one loses leg

Thiruvananthapuram: Two railway staff got injured at Thampanoor Central Station in a freak accident on Monday night. Railway police officials said that the accident occurred around 7.45pm.
The Amrita Express was being brought from the yard to the platform when an engineer and an apprentice reportedly fell on the track.
One staff’s leg got amputated, while the other person sustained injuries to his leg. Railway authorities said that both the injured persons have been taken to the hospital.
Authorities said that more details are being awaited on how exactly the accident happened, and at present, the priority was on giving the best possible medical care to the injured staff.
