LUCKNOW: The Rae Bareli police on Monday sent a 15-year-old girl to juvenile home after she confessed to have battered her mother to death and then pushed her off the roof in a bid to pass it off as suicide. Police said the woman was thrown off the terrace of her house on May 10 under Sarauni police station. Rae Bareli SP Shlok Kumar said the matter was reported by the victim's husband. "The 15-year-old girl, who claimed to have witnessed the incident, told her father in the presence of police that her mother had slipped off the terrace," said Kumar. "We got suspicious when the post-mortem report confirmed that the woman did not die due to injuries suffered from the fall. She was apparently hit by a hard, flat object on her head and face. She died due to injuries sustained in the attack," Kumar added. The SP further said that a broken mobile of the girl was recovered from the spot which was restored. When call records were obtained, cops found the girl had made the last call to a friend. "When questioned before her father, she confessed that she attacked her mother with a cement brick and then pushed her off the terrace because she had scolded her for talking to friends," the SP said. She also said that her friend had gifted the phone. The girl was produced before child welfare committee and sent to juvenile home.
