LUCKNOW: "Prioritise public interest and work with honesty." That was the message from Prime Minister
Narendra Modi to UP ministers during an interaction on Monday evening. The PM took feedback from all ministers about their respective departments and their functioning.
After coming back from
Lumbini, the PM had an over four-hour stopover at Chief Minister
Yogi Adityanath’s official residence, 5 Kalidas
Marg, for the interaction, which was followed by dinner. The PM advised them how to keep themselves well-behaved and maintain integrity, and honesty. He also urged them not to show undue aggression and try to remain calm and cool.
The PM also asked the ministers to extensively review their department’s progress.

He also urged them to focus on aspirational districts and ensure such districts came out of the backward category as soon as possible.
Modi reached 5 Kalidas Marg at around 7 pm and departed to Delhi after 11 pm. His dinner meeting is being seen as significant in view of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
Sources said that the PM not only gave a roadmap to the ministers about the implementation of various schemes being run by the Central and state governments, but also believed to have given tips on good governance and how coordination between the government and organisation can pave the way for the success of the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections 2024.
Later, the PM tweeted that he had an extensive interaction with the council of ministers of the UP government. "We discussed a wide range of subjects relating to furthering good governance and ‘Ease of Living’ for the citizens," he said.
During the one-on-one interaction with ministers, the prime minister also took feedback from them about their department’s functioning. The PM is also believed to have advised the ministers to ensure the work is corruption free and should focus on clearing files of public interest.
The PM also took feedback from the ministers who have been made in charge of various divisions. He also took feedback about how the officials in the districts were performing. The PM also discussed the public life of ministers. According to sources, the CM also presented a roadmap of UP’s development. According to political observers, the PM’s meeting gives message to ministers that every step and action being taken by them is under the watchful eyes of the central government.
