Ludhiana: The accused, who sodomised and killed a four-year-old boy, said he had no intention of committing the crime when he called the child’s uncle to get the keys of the factory as he wanted to rest there. However, when the boy came to hand over the keys, he lured him with snacks and took him to the first floor where he sexually assaulted and then strangled him to death.
The incident occurred at a hosiery factory where the boy and his parents had shifted about two months ago. The boy’s uncle (father’s brother) had been living there for a couple of years. The family used to work in the same factory and lived in the same building. The accused was also a hosiery worker, but in a nearby factory.
Inspector
Kulwant Singh said, “The accused had cordial relations with the boy’s uncle and would often come to his factory to take rest. On Sunday too, the accused called his friend and asked for the keys and the man sent his nephew with them.”
“The accused confessed that when he had called for the keys, he had nothing in mind and said that he was guilty and ashamed of his act,” he added.
The police have arrested the 32-year-old accused under sections 302 (murder) and 377 (sodomy) of the IPC and the
Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Meanwhile, a board of doctors, comprising Dr Rohit Rampal,
Dr Gaitari and forensic doctor
Charan Kanwal, on Monday conducted the autopsy of the boy and confirmed he was sexually assaulted and then strangled to death.
